The manager of Chelsea, Rafael Benitez, has admitted that he will not continue as Chelsea manager after this season, but, he refused to talk about his successor.

Benitez was appointed as Chelsea manager in November last year after the club had decided to sack Roberto Di Matteo because of a few losses.

There have been rumours since the last few weeks that Jose Mourinho might return to Chelsea as the manager. Mourinho himself said in one of his recent interviews that the English clubs love him and he might be returning to England in the next season.

Also, Mourinho’s team Real Madrid was surprisingly knocked out from the semi final of the UEFA Champions League by the German club Borussia Dortmund. So, Madrid might also let Mourinho go.

Mourinho was pretty successful as the manager of Chelsea during his first tenure. The Blues had won a couple of Premier League titles and also, a couple of League Cups under his guidance.

When Benitez was asked who is going to be his successor, he said, “I don’t know about that and I don’t want to know either. That’s not my job. My job is to concentrate on the next match against Basel not on who will be the next manager.”

Juan Mata was also present in that press conference along with Benitez and he also gave the same answer when he was asked about the next manager. He said, “We don’t have any idea about that. The season is not finished yet. There are still a few important games to go and our concentration is currently on those matches.”

“Winning the Europa League is very important for us and then, we want to finish third in the Premier League table. So, there are a couple of targets to achieve in the remainder of the season.”
