He missed the final through suspension as the Blues got the better of Bayern Munich to win the competition for the first time. Chelsea defeated the Germans on penalties after they had played a 1-1 draw.

LAMPARD DELIVERS UPDATE AFTER TERRY COMMENTS

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has delivered an update on Danish centre back Andreas Christensen who was criticised by Blues legend John Terry after the recent Premier League encounter between Chelsea and Aston Villa. John Terry is the current assistant manager to gaffer Dean Smith at Aston Villa and he criticised Andreas Christensen for feigning an injury shortly before his Aston Villa side equalised at the start of the second half to secure a 1-1 draw away from home.

In his pre-match presser before the FA Cup third round clash with Morecambelast week Friday, Chelsea manager Lampard decided to set the record straight on Christensen as he defended the player in the face of criticisms from John Terry and others. According to him, Andreas Christensen suffered a knee injury during the game and he was sent for a scan. Thankfully, the injury is not a serious one and the player is now expected to be in contention for the West London Derby away to Fulhamat the weekend.
